Our tour started out with some camping and exploring on the way up to Ogden Utah, where we played one of our favorite festivals. Ogden Music Festival is an energetic event, that really knows how to take care of its musicians. We were lucky enough to cram into an old van and play for the Van Sessions. (Stay tuned for the link to iTunes, YouTube, and Spotify.) After Ogden, we hit the road for our friend's homestead in Paonia, Colorado where we jammed, played a yard party, hiked to alpine lakes, kayaked and drank lots of coffee. We got three restful days and nights, and slept scattered around the property, under the stars, in the beautiful yurt, or in tents. Thank you, S & C, for your generosity and beautiful art.
We left Paonia on the 7th and headed to Grand Junction for a sold out performance and radio show on KAFM. The crowd in Grand Junction was one of the most energetic and engaged crowds we've ever had the privilege of performing for. We drove from Grand Junction to Ridgway for a few hours of sleep before heading to Ignacio, Co for another radio interview on KSUT to promote the Pagosa Folk N Bluegrass Festival.
We left Pagosa Springs on the 11th for a couple days of camping, hiking, swimming, and fishing (no luck) on the Arkansas River. Then on to Breckenridge, where we will be playing tonight at the Breckenridge Brewery and Pub. Stay tuned for the second half of the tour update, including the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, RapidGrass Festival, Ridgway River Fest, and Rapids & Grass.
